About The Band: Music is the space between the notes is what Claude Debussy once wrote. It doesn’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing is what Duke Ellington would sing in a verse that leads to no chorus. Chaka Khan, her voice has got it going on and on and on like a song by Erykah Badu. The who are you ...

Cherry Bomb the Runaways - A movie was just announced about the 70s rock band the Runaways with Joan Jett and Lita Ford. I have to be honest I never liked them when they where current I would read about them in Creem Magazine and Circus and it wasn’t because they where girls, it was because they just sucked. I love lots of girl rockers from Shiney Toy Guns to Wendy O but it has to be real ! They used the whole girl thing as hype and if they where guys they would have never gotten past the local bar scene ? I don’t know the movie will be filled with girl cat fights, lesbo scenes and guy sex scenes, and the whole watch the girls as they fight to the top in a male rock world just is a bore. Is it me or is this just a sell-out wait that’s what it was in the first place ! Rolling Stone News
Musicnoyz.com Artist of the Week ! - This week a new band out of Hollywood Florida joined the fray “The Sad Chains” and they uploaded one great song Modern Man which is very much late 70s early 80s punk which is great. The recording is kinda mid-rangey but actually it sounds like most recordings from the period, the guitars kick ass, the distorto vocals are real, the drums are very punkish just wish they where miced a bit more to give the song some more kick. It’s there just the recording doesn’t highlite it. Hey when are you gonna get your music up and profiled on Musicnoyz.com ? - The Sad Chains on Musicnoyz.com
Is Rock Dead Pt 4 ? - I pulled this video from youtube just by chance as I never heard of this band before CSS - canseidesersexy, but they seem pop’ey and to be relevant of todays music. One their from Brazil so it just shows us the power of the internet 10 yrs ago we would never be talking about this band in the USA unless they where superstars so mass exposure is easier than ever. But is that good ? Just because someone gives you free pizza should you eat all you can get ? Depends if its good and also how hungry you are I guess ? Is music different just because there are 1000000 myspace bands should we listen, just because its free should we download ? I guess it depends how hungry and if it’s any good ? I’ll give this band from Brazil a break there not from the lower east side NYC, or the glitz of LA, or the hipness of London, or the off beat path of Austin. But it’s got some hooks, and the video is kinda hooky, but hey it’s FREEE !!! Eat up right !?!?!?
Silversun Pickups Swoon Album - Silversun Pickups released their new album Swoon in April, and I must say it’s good, maybe as not as good as their last effort but it’s worthy. I love this band, a tinge of Pumpkins in them, but they just have enough energy alt and flavour to make it sooo worthwhile. The new album doesnt have any vid’s on youtube so I posted this one from the last album. They will be on tour in the US in the late summer. http://www.silversunpickups.com is the site !
Michael Jackson’s public memorial will be held Tuesday, July 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, the sight of the superstar’s final rehearsals for his This Is It! run of London concerts. A family spokesman told the Los Angeles Times yesterday that 11,000 tickets will be passed out for the free event and a press conference hosted by concert promoter AEG today confirmed how those tickets will be distributed.
Fans interested in attending the Jackson memorial can log on to StaplesCenter.com today through 6 p.m. PT Saturday. 17,500 tickets total will be made available: 11,000 for entrance to the Staples Center and 6,500 for neighboring Nokia Theatre, which will simulcast the memorial on three screens. 8,750 registered fans will be selected at random and receive two tickets apiece; they will receive a Ticketmaster code on Sunday between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. that will allow them to pick up tickets and wristbands on Monday at an undisclosed location. No tickets will be physically distributed at the Staples Center or Nokia Theatre. “It was our wish to allow as many of Michael’s fans to be part of the memorial, and we wish to thank everyone for their support and understanding at this difficult time,” Jackson Family said in a statement.
Questions over who will foot the bill for the memorial and its associated costs — particularly police deployment — remain partially unanswered as of today. “There’s no precedent for this,” Councilwoman Jan Perry, who is stepping in as mayor for a vacationing Antonio Villaraigosa, told the L.A. Times. At the press conference today, Perry said the event had “the potential to impact public safety” and urged fans to watch the memorial on television; a pool feed will provide footage to all the major networks and a Webcast will also be available. All tickets to the event are free, and AEG’s Tim Lieweke discouraged scalping: “Those who would take advantage of this, shame on them.” At 11:30 a.m. PT today, the Staples Center site had received 500,000,000 hits, forcing an additional server to be added to handle the registration demand.
No details about the memorial service itself — who will perform or attend — have been released. Original plans to hold Jackson’s memorial and burial at Neverland Ranch were abandoned for legal and logistical reasons. Read more about the potential futures for Neverland here.
