| ~The Band~ The FINGIES are something you don't expect to hear from four guys based in Russian capital, Moscow, where winter dwells for 9 months out of 12. Full of guitar-driven energy to the point where electric sparks burst out in the air during live gigs, the sunny and positive music with catchy melodies, and even ballads-this is, perhaps, one of the most interesting bands of the mid-2000's to appear from Russia. ~The Album~ The debut album "Nasty Freak" proves that The Fingies are quite serious about conquering the world with their unique blend of rock, punk-rock, funk, disco, and God-knows-what-else. The album features classic punk-rock tracks ("Hey Love", "Whole life"), disco-punk craziness ("Messing Around"), ironic anti-christmas song ("Santa"), funky songs ("Woo-Hoo", "She"), and even a heartfelt ballad ("Shake it"). Not to mention professional mixing and mastering by London's own Resident Studio. Oh and there's always a story behind each of the songs, but everyone will find something different in the lyrics. "Nasty Freak" available now through international web-stores. ~Background info~ It wasn't long before two friends, Fingy and Ruck, founded The FINGIES-the band, where they could play everything they wanted, breaking rules of usual mainstream music and blending all styles-pop-punk, grunge, rock, funk-and forge the unique style of the band. They quickly found their own sound, progressing from covering classic rock and punk-rock songs to writing and performing their own compelling originals. In 2003 The FINGIES started playing at various venues. At that time, the band became famous for their onstage punk attitude, but at the same time for being the musicians who can write and play exceptionally good music. In 2004, the band recorded and self-released EP "Young, Drunk, Stupid" consisting of 3 songs. The same year one of the ancestors, Ruck left the band for full-time job in the United States. The Fingies were lucky enough to find a replacement quickly-Piglit became the new bass player for the band. The following year was quite a busy time for a band-writing new material and performing. At that point the band went through another revitalizing spinby recruiting two new guitarists-Nikita and Ashtray have since added a lot of melodic to the band's overall sound, yet making it a more powerful and solid-sounding act. Now, Fingy could finally concentrate on singing. By the beginning of 2006 it was obvious that the time to record an album had come. The Fingies spent the spring in preparations and rehearsals, after the band has found a perfect session drummer Vicha to work with. Two long summer months? with literally hell's kitchen outside, the guys spent in the control room of Gigant Rec.-one of the most experienced and well-known Russian studios, with more than a decade of successful work with leading Russian rock acts. The result was raw material ready for mixing and mastering. The London's Resident Studios was chosen for its impressive experience and uncompromising quality. It took almost a month of endless emails and phone calls from Moscow to London and back, and, of course, the hard work by Resident Studios engineers, and eventually The Fingies received the long-awaited master copy of the CD. The FINGIES are proud to present their debut album. Now in international web-stores. |
