Catfish Flats started quite accidentally. our original bassist Jon Wells, drummer Henry Jolley and I took a one off gig as a trio. We had played together many times over the years but always in larger bands. By the second song of the gig it became obvious that something unique, very musical and incredibly fun was happening as we worked in the trio format. There was a freedom and spontaneity happening with the tunes we played that night and all three of us wanted to explore more of what the trio format could bring. The crowd reaction was fantastic and soon we were booking the band regularly and planning an album.
